SFR Acquired by Bouygues Telecom | Technology M&A Deal

Bouygues Telecom has signed an agreement to acquire SFR, a telecom services business in France, for over $100M. Bouygues Telecom acquisitions target SFR’s mobile and digital communications infrastructure, subscriber base, and network operations that support high-performing electronic communications services. As part of a strategic acquisition, the consortium including Free–iliad Group and Orange plans to scale investment capabilities in France’s telecom sector and strengthen resilient, sovereign connectivity. The proposed telecom acquisition is structured as a platform acquisition and is announced as a technology M&A process, with a multi-year migration program for millions of subscribers and systems. Employment protections for acquired staff are expected through the beginning of 2029, with the transaction subject to further steps toward closing.
