Lilly has completed the acquisition of Curevo Vaccine, a pharmacy business in Washington, for $1.5 billion. Curevo Vaccine is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing varicella zoster virus (VZV) vaccines, including the adjuvanted subunit shingles candidate amezosvatein. Lilly acquisitions in healthcare M&A aim to expand next-generation shingles prevention by improving tolerability and supporting higher adult vaccination uptake in Seattle. The strategic acquisition is announced and valued at over $100M, positioning the program for Phase 3 readiness and addressing side-effect drivers of second-dose hesitancy.
