Edgewise Therapeutics Acquired by Servier | Healthcare M&A Deal

Servier has completed the acquisition of Edgewise Therapeutics, a pharmacy business in Colorado, for $2.7 billion. Edgewise Therapeutics is developing sevasemten, an experimental tablet for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Becker muscular dystrophy by inhibiting a protein linked to rapid muscle contractions. Servier acquires Edgewise Therapeutics to expand neuromuscular disorder capabilities and build a pipeline in muscular dystrophy through mid-stage and pivotal studies. The strategic acquisition is structured as a merger acquisition with $1.55 billion paid upfront in cash, plus up to $1.1 billion in contingent regulatory and commercial milestones, and is positioned as part of Servier acquisitions in healthcare M&A.
