Brookfield Renewable Partners has completed the issuance of C$150 million of 5.75% cumulative minimum rate reset Class A preferred limited partnership units, Series 19, a renewable energy financing instrument in Canada. Brookfield Renewable Partners is a public company focused on renewable energy assets and related cash distributions, using preferred equity to support its energy M&A and capital needs. The Series 19 units pay a fixed 5.75% quarterly distribution until July 31, 2031, after which the rate resets every five years based on Canadian government bond yields plus a spread or a floor of 5.75%. This other acquisition-related capital raise is structured on a bought deal basis with a syndicate of underwriters led by Scotiabank, BMO Capital Markets, CIBC Capital Markets, National Bank of Canada Capital Markets, RBC Capital Markets, and TD Securities.
