Learfield Acquired by TPG | Business Services M&A Deal

TPG has acquired Learfield, a business services other business in Alabama, for $2 billion. Learfield provides multimedia rights and sports media services for more than 100 colleges, conferences, and venues, including IMG College Audio Network radio broadcasts and local game coverage. The company also operates ticketing and platform services, official athletics websites and mobile apps, licensed merchandising, and athletics digital experiences across Alabama and other markets, supporting university athletics revenue. TPG acquisitions in sports media include TPG Sports and digital media investments, and this private equity acquisition is expected to close in Q3 2026 subject to approvals, with deal value reported between $1.8 billion and $2 billion.
