Deal Overview

Altair has entered into an agreement to acquire Metrics Design Automation, a enterprise software business in Michigan, for $1B. The platform targets ASIC and FPGA design teams using SystemVerilog and VHDL RTL, and it is designed to run concurrently at scale across desktop, customer servers, or cloud environments. Altair acquisitions are positioned as a strategic acquisition and platform acquisition to expand EDA simulation and circuit debug capabilities, combining DSim with Altair Silicon Debug Tools and delivering access via Altair One. The technology M&A deal is announced and subject to customary closing conditions, with deal completion expected after regulatory and other approvals.
