Deal Overview

Microsoft announced it will acquire Osmos, an agentic AI data engineering platform designed to simplify complex, time-consuming data workflows. Microsoft said Osmos will apply agentic AI to turn raw data into analytics and AI-ready assets in OneLake, the unified data lake at the core of Microsoft Fabric.

Microsoft framed the acquisition as an extension of Fabric’s goal to unify data and analytics into a single, secure platform. The Osmos team will join Microsoft’s Fabric engineering organization to advance autonomous AI agents that work alongside people and reduce operational overhead.
