AIMCO Sells Chicago Portfolio for $455.0M

Apartment Investment and Management Company (AIMCO) completed the sale of its Chicago Portfolio, a group of seven properties in the Chicago metro area, for gross sales proceeds of $455.0 million. The sale was completed March 27, 2026, following a purchase and sale agreement entered on December 10, 2025.

In connection with the transaction, $282.5 million of non-recourse property debt was assumed by the purchaser. AIMCO determined the sale meets ASC 205-20 criteria to be classified as a discontinued operation, and will account for the Chicago Portfolio as discontinued operations beginning with its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended March 31, 2026.
