Orlando Health to Acquire RMC Health System

Orlando Health has agreed to acquire RMC Health System, an Anniston, Alabama-based nonprofit health system. RMC includes a 375-bed medical center, outpatient centers, and associated practices serving patients in Anniston and northeast Alabama.

The deal is expected to close in the fall, subject to regulatory approvals, and RMC would become part of Orlando’s Alabama Region. Orlando previously expanded in Alabama by acquiring Birmingham-based Baptist Health in 2024, and RMC’s acquisition would extend Orlando’s footprint beyond the Birmingham area. Orlando said it will invest significant resources to improve RMC’s facilities, including implementing an electronic health record system.
