UAB Health System Acquires Southview Medical Group

UAB Health System has acquired Southview Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician practice focused on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases for patients in central Alabama. The acquisition was finalized on Jan. 1, 2026.

The deal transfers ownership of Southview’s provider and facility network to UAB Health System, including locations at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham and UAB Medicine. The partnership is intended to strengthen access to primary and specialty care in Birmingham and surrounding communities.
