Aireon Acquired by Iridium | Technology M&A Deal

Announced
TechnologyAdd-on

Deal Overview

Iridium has completed the acquisition of Aireon, a technology other business in the United States, for $367 million. Iridium acquires Aireon to combine Aireon’s space-based surveillance and PNT data services, including GPS jamming and spoofing detection, with Iridium’s global satellite communications network. The strategic acquisition strengthens Iridium’s ability to support GPS-dependent operations in contested environments and improves continuity of surveillance and data services. The add on acquisition is an Iridium acquisitions add-on deal with a strategic buyer, covering the remaining 61% stake in Aireon, and is expected to close following customary approvals.
