Nemetschek Group has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Heavy Construction Systems Specialists, LLC (HCSS) from Thoma Bravo. HCSS is headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas and provides construction software for infrastructure and heavy civil projects in North America.
HCSS was founded in 1986, supports more than 4,000 companies, and employs more than 550 professionals. Nemetschek will integrate HCSS into its Build & Construct segment, which includes Bluebeam, GoCanvas (including SiteDocs), and Nevaris, aiming to strengthen collaboration and workflow optimization across construction project phases.
The announcement frames HCSS as a strategic fit because it brings proprietary lifecycle data and AI expertise that complement Nemetschek’s AEC/O vertical AI software platform.
