Ascension Health has completed the acquisition of AmSurg, an ambulatory surgery business in Florida, for $3.9 billion. AmSurg operates ambulatory surgery centers that provide outpatient surgical services and compete in local healthcare markets across FL acquisitions. The ambulatory surgery acquisition supports Ascension Health’s healthcare M&A strategy to expand outpatient care delivery and strengthen its presence in healthcare deals FL. The Federal Trade Commission required divestiture of certain ambulatory surgery centers to address anticompetitive effects, making the AmSurg acquisition subject to regulatory remedies. The healthcare M&A transaction was announced as a large-scale strategic deal exceeding $100M, with divestiture terms expected to be finalized as part of the closing process.
