Ascension has agreed to acquire AmSurg, a ambulatory surgery center business in Missouri, for $3.9B. Ascension acquisitions will expand its ambulatory surgery footprint through AmSurg acquisition of more than 250 ASCs across 34 states, supporting a strategic acquisition in outpatient care. The FTC approved the healthcare M&A merger acquisition only after Ascension agreed to divest seven ASCs tied to competitive concerns, creating MO acquisitions impact. The strategic acquisition is a strategic acquisition by a strategic buyer, with the $3.9B deal size over $100M and a planned close contingent on completing the required divestitures.
