NRG Adds LS Power Portfolio in Closed Deal

NRG Energy completed its acquisition of the LS Power Portfolio on January 30, 2026. The LS Power Portfolio includes 18 natural gas-fired facilities totaling approximately 13 GW of capacity across nine states, plus CPower, a commercial and industrial virtual power plant with approximately 6 GW of capacity and more than 2,000 commercial and industrial customers.

NRG’s earlier Texas Generation Portfolio acquisition added six natural gas-fired power generation facilities totaling 738 MW in Texas, completed April 10, 2025 for $560 million in cash, less $2 million in working capital adjustments. The LS Power Portfolio acquisition was completed under a purchase agreement dated May 12, 2025 and involved multiple LS Power affiliates and subsidiaries.
