Embecta has completed the acquisition of Owen Mumford, a medical devices business in the United Kingdom, for up to $201 million. Embecta acquires Owen Mumford to expand beyond diabetes injection supplies into broader medical supplies, leveraging Owen Mumford’s Aidaptus auto-injector platform and related products including auto-injectors, lancets, and syringes. Owen Mumford’s adaptive device design supports different prefilled syringe sizes and fill levels, while Embecta’s pen needles and syringe portfolio can integrate with Aidaptus for autoimmune disease and anaphylaxis use cases. The Owen Mumford acquisition is a strategic add-on acquisition by a strategic buyer, with £100 million upfront and up to £50 million in performance payments tied to Aidaptus sales over three years.
