Deal Overview

Medtronic has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Scientia Vascular for $550 million, subject to customary adjustments and potential additional milestone payments. The deal is designed to expand Medtronic’s neurovascular portfolio for treating stroke and aneurysms.

Scientia’s access technologies would be integrated with Medtronic’s existing neurovascular product range to help physicians navigate cerebral blood vessel anatomy and reach treatment sites more efficiently during minimally invasive procedures. Medtronic expects the transaction to close in the first half of fiscal year 2027, pending regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.
