York Space Systems has acquired Solestial, a electronics manufacturing business in Arizona, for $355M. Solestial manufactures ultra-thin, radiation-hardened silicon solar cells for space power systems, with a supply base that is largely sourced in the U.S. York Space Systems acquisitions also aim to reduce satellite solar-cell lead times and supply-chain risk for commercial and defense spacecraft built in AZ. The Solestial acquisition is a platform acquisition by a strategic buyer, expected to close in Q2, and Solestial will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary. York Space Systems acquisitions in 2026 include additional manufacturing M&A to expand vertically and combine subsystems for more capable, cost-efficient satellites.
