Announced
TechnologyMerger

Deal Overview

Cisco is in advanced negotiations to acquire cybersecurity startup Axonius for $2 billion. Axonius is described as a platform for managing and securing devices connected to corporate networks, including centralized asset cataloging, coverage-gap identification, and automated enforcement of security policies.

The company was founded in 2017 in New York and has raised about $700 million to date, with investors including Accel, Silver Lake, Bessemer Venture Partners, Iconiq Capital, and Alkeon Capital. Axonius also acquired Cynerio in a $180 million deal in July of last year to expand into medical-device cybersecurity. Axonius said it is not in talks to be acquired by Cisco.

The reported $2 billion figure would follow a broader wave of enterprise security acquisitions as Cisco strengthens its security portfolio.
