Hawthorn Financial Services Acquired by MWA Financial | Financial Services M&A Deal

MWA Financial has completed the acquisition of Hawthorn Financial Services, a wealth management ria business in Wiltshire, for $26m. MWA Financial acquisitions add more than 70 family client units to its UK advice and planning platform, expanding Hawthorn’s wealth management RIA offering for ongoing client support. The MWA Financial acquires Hawthorn Financial Services strategic acquisition brings founder Derek Avenell into the group as an adviser with immediate effect, strengthening adviser capacity across the financial services M&A footprint. The add on acquisition was completed as a strategic acquisition supported by Frontier Development Capital and Coniston Capital, which previously invested in MWA Financial in 2023 to fund long-term growth and further add on acquisition activity.
