Micron Completes PSMC Tongluo P5 Site Acquisition

Micron Technology has completed its acquisition of Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation’s (PSMC) Tongluo P5 site in Miaoli County, Taiwan, under an agreement announced January 17, 2026. The Tongluo facility complements Micron’s existing Taiwan operations as an extension of its vertically integrated mega campus in Taichung, about 15 miles away.

The site includes approximately 300,000 square feet of existing 300mm cleanroom space and will support Micron’s expansion of leading-edge DRAM supply, including HBM, to meet AI-driven demand. Micron will retrofit the existing cleanroom starting in March and expects meaningful product shipments from the existing fab beginning in fiscal 2028. A second facility of comparable scale is planned, with construction starting by the end of fiscal 2026 and adding about 270,000 square feet of cleanroom space.
