WonderFi Acquired by Robinhood Markets | Financial Services M&A Deal

Robinhood Markets has completed the acquisition of WonderFi, a payments processing business in Canada, for C$250 million. Robinhood Markets acquisitions bring control of Bitbuy and Coinsquare, regulated Canadian crypto platforms that support retail and institutional trading services. WonderFi acquisition also adds approximately 300,000 funded customers and expands Robinhood’s international footprint beyond the U.S., with a Toronto engineering hub supporting the growth. The strategic acquisition is a financial services M&A move by a strategic buyer, with Robinhood planning customer migration to the Robinhood app and a flat 0.5% fee per CAD trade. WonderFi shares are expected to delist from the Toronto Stock Exchange around June 2 as Robinhood finalizes full ownership.
