Hitachi Global Life Solutions home appliances unit Acquired by Nojima | Consumer M&A Deal

Nojima has acquired Hitachi Global Life Solutions home appliances unit, a consumer other business in Japan, for $690.6 million. Hitachi Global Life Solutions manufactures household appliances under the Hitachi brand, and Nojima plans to expand its home appliance lineup and production footprint beyond retail distribution. Nojima acquisitions will keep Hitachi-branded products sold through Nojima’s retail network and other distributors, supporting continuity in Japan’s consumer electronics market. The strategic acquisition is structured as Nojima taking an 80.1% stake in a newly spun-off manufacturing entity in fiscal year 2026, as Hitachi shifts focus toward higher-margin IT services and energy infrastructure.
