Rocket Lab Approved to Acquire Mynaric

Rocket Lab has received regulatory approval to acquire Mynaric AG, a provider of laser optical communications terminals for air, space, and mobile applications. The approval was reviewed and cleared by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Rocket Lab expects the transaction to close in April. Mynaric will remain headquartered in Munich, creating Rocket Lab’s first European footprint. Rocket Lab said laser communications enable higher data rates, improved security, scalability, and more efficient spectrum use, and that Mynaric is already a subcontractor to Rocket Lab.
