Pure Treats Acquires Primal Pet Foods in Pet Snacks

Canadian pet-food business Pure Treats has acquired Primal Pet Foods from private-equity firm Kinderhook Industries. Pure Treats is based in Montreal, Quebec, and owns the PureBites and PureSnacks cat and dog snacking brands.

Primal Pet Foods supplies branded frozen and freeze-dried foods to North America and parts of Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and South Korea. Kinderhook acquired Primal Pet Foods in 2021 for an undisclosed sum, and Pure Treats did not disclose the price it paid for the business.
