Blackstone has acquired Skroutz, a ecommerce business in Greece, for $1.3. Skroutz operates a leading online marketplace in Athens, connecting about 9,000 merchants with millions of active users and offering more than 12 million products. The platform acquisition also includes vertically integrated last-mile logistics, fulfillment services, a licensed fintech offering, and a growing retail media business that supports monetization for merchants. Blackstone acquisitions are being executed via private equity acquisition of a majority stake, with founders retaining ownership and CEO George Chatzigeorgiou continuing to lead. The ecommerce acquisition is announced and designed to fund continued growth and European expansion across Southeast Europe, including Cyprus and further moves into Romania and Bulgaria.
