Tri Pointe Homes Acquired by Sumitomo Forestry | Construction M&A Deal

Sumitomo Forestry has completed the acquisition of Tri Pointe Homes, a general contracting business in California, for about $4.5 billion. Tri Pointe Homes builds move-up and entry-level homes through a vertically integrated model with in-house financial services, operating from its Irvine, CA home office. Sumitomo Forestry acquires Tri Pointe Homes to expand U.S. homebuilding scale and deepen construction M&A capabilities in California acquisitions. The strategic acquisition is structured as a platform acquisition, with Tri Pointe becoming a wholly owned subsidiary and no longer trading on the NYSE.
