Trinity Health System Acquired by UPMC | Healthcare M&A Deal

UPMC has acquired Trinity Health System, a healthcare services other business in Ohio, for an undisclosed amount. UPMC acquires Trinity Health System to expand its nonprofit healthcare footprint into the Ohio Valley through four hospitals and a network of clinics. Trinity Health System operates Trinity West and Trinity East in Steubenville, Trinity St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital, and Trinity Twin City Medical Center in Dennison, supporting acute and outpatient care demand. The platform acquisition is a strategic acquisition by a strategic buyer, extending UPMC acquisitions beyond its mid-Atlantic base. The UPMC acquisitions deal is expected to close in fall 2026, subject to regulatory review and customary closing conditions.
