Higgs Acquires Vialex in First PE-Backed Add-On

Higgs, a private-equity-backed legal services firm, announced its first acquisition since being bought by private equity in August 2025. The firm acquired Scottish business Vialex along with its specialist employment law arm, Navigator Employment Law.

The Vialex transaction adds 40 staff and gives Higgs its first presence in Edinburgh. Higgs said the deal strengthens its corporate, commercial, and employment capabilities and provides a base in Scotland to support clients across the UK and beyond. Vialex is described as not being a regulated law firm and offers corporate and commercial legal services, including a legal counsel service acting as in-house counsel.
