Google Acquisition of Wiz Amid Moltbook Data Leak Claims

Deal Overview

Google has acquired cybersecurity company Wiz, and Wiz has published findings about a Moltbook hacking incident. Wiz says a misconfigured Supabase database exposed full read and write access to Moltbook platform data.

Wiz claims the exposure included 1.5 million API authentication tokens and more than 35,000 email addresses, along with private messages between agents. Wiz states it disclosed the issue to the Moltbook team, which secured the problem within hours, and that data accessed during research and fix verification was deleted.

The report also argues Moltbook lacked basic identity verification, enabling public scraping, and frames the event as a risk tied to fast AI-assisted development without security controls.
