Atraverse Medical Acquired by Johnson & Johnson | Healthcare M&A Deal

Johnson & Johnson has agreed to acquire Atraverse Medical, a medical devices business in the cardiovascular space, for an undisclosed amount. Atraverse Medical develops next-generation left-heart access and radiofrequency technology, including the HOTWIRE Transseptal Access System used for left atrium access during cardiac ablation procedures. The FDA-cleared radiofrequency guidewire and generator platform supports electrophysiologists with impedance-sensing automatic energy shutoff, compatibility with multiple sheaths, and improved tip visibility under intracardiac echocardiography. Johnson & Johnson acquisitions in healthcare M&A are expected to close in Q2 2026, subject to customary conditions, as an add-on acquisition that expands its cardiac ablation portfolio for atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias.
