Atraverse Medical Acquired by Johnson & Johnson | Healthcare M&A Deal

Johnson & Johnson has entered into an other acquisition of Atraverse Medical, a medical devices business in Illinois. Atraverse Medical develops next-generation left-heart access and radiofrequency (RF) technologies for atrial fibrillation ablation, including the Hotwire transseptal access system used in nearly 3,000 clinical procedures. The FDA-cleared RF guidewire and generator platform is designed to improve confidence and control during left atrium access, supporting electrophysiologists with features such as impedance-sensing energy shutoff and intracardiac echocardiography tip visibility. Johnson & Johnson acquisitions represent a strategic acquisition to expand cardiac ablation solutions for AF and other arrhythmias, with the deal expected to close in Q2 2026 subject to customary conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed in the healthcare M&A announcement.
