Frontera Energy Acquired by Parex Resources | Energy M&A Deal

Announced
EnergyPlatform

Deal Overview

Parex Resources has acquired Frontera Energy, a oilfield services business in Colombia, for US$500 million upfront cash plus US$225 million of net debt assumed and a US$25 million contingent payment. Parex Resources acquisitions bring Frontera’s Colombian upstream oil and gas exploration and production assets, including a reverse osmosis water treatment facility and a palm oil plantation, into Parex’s conventional production footprint. Frontera Energy acquisition supports Parex’s strategy to expand scale in Colombia’s energy sector while strengthening water treatment capabilities tied to field operations in Bogotá. The platform acquisition is an announced strategic acquisition by a Canadian independent oil and gas operator, with shareholder approval already secured and expected closing in Q2 2026, subject to remaining arrangement conditions.
