W&D provided a $1.7 billion refinance for Starwood Capital’s affordable housing portfolio spanning 52 properties and 12,955 rental units. The loans were originated by Walker & Dunlop as 10-year, Freddie Mac-backed financing for Starwood Capital’s Starwood Real Estate Income Trust (SREIT).

The assets were acquired across 10 states from Strata Equity Group in November 2021. The refinance was closed by W&D’s capital markets institutional advisory group, led by Dustin Stolly, senior managing director at Walker & Dunlop.
