Clay pricing in 2026: every plan, credit and worked cost example
Researched by the Tentt team · draft awaiting expert review · Updated
Clay pricing starts at $0 on the Free plan, then $185 a month for Launch and $495 a month for Growth on monthly billing, or $167 and $446 a month billed annually. Enterprise is quoted on request. Each plan includes two meters, Actions for platform work and Data Credits for marketplace data, as verified on 17 October 2026.
Key takeaways
- Clay's Launch plan costs $185 a month billed monthly, made up of $60 for 15,000 Actions and $125 for 2,500 Data Credits.
- Clay's Growth plan costs $495 a month billed monthly and adds CRM auto-sync, HTTP API, webhooks and web intent signals.
- Annual billing on Clay saves about 10%, for example $167 a month instead of $185 on Launch.
- Clay's docs say a fully enriched record typically costs 6 to 20 Data Credits, so Data Credits usually drive the bill.
- Clay charges no Data Credits or Actions when a lookup returns no result, and top-ups on Launch and Growth cost a 30% premium.
How much does Clay pricing cost on each plan?
Clay pricing has four plans as of 17 October 2026: Free, Launch, Growth and Enterprise. Launch starts at $185 a month and Growth at $495 a month on monthly billing, while Enterprise is custom. The table shows the starting tier of each plan from Clay's pricing page.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing (per month) | Actions included | Data Credits included | Notable limits and features |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 500 a month | 100 a month | 200 rows per table, no phone enrichment, no top-ups |
| Launch | From $185 | From $167 | 15,000 a month (180,000 a year) | 2,500 a month (30,000 a year) | Up to 50,000 rows per table, phone enrichment, signals, scheduled runs |
| Growth | From $495 | From $446 | 40,000 a month (480,000 a year) | 6,000 a month (72,000 a year) | CRM auto-sync, warehouse sync, HTTP API, webhooks, web intent |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom, annual commitment | Custom (FAQ cites 200,000+ a month) | Custom (FAQ cites 100,000+ a month) | SSO, SCIM, RBAC, credit budgeting, bulk enrichment over 50,000 records |
The headline price is the sum of two sliders. On monthly billing, Launch is 15,000 Actions for $60 plus 2,500 Data Credits for $125, which equals $185. Growth is 40,000 Actions for $205 plus 6,000 Data Credits for $290, which equals $495.
How do Clay credits work: Actions versus Data Credits?
Clay credits come in two types since the pricing change Clay announced on 11 March 2026. Actions measure orchestration, meaning enrichments, AI runs and sending data to other tools. Data Credits pay for data or AI bought from third-party vendors in Clay's marketplace.
Clay's docs say each record enriched or exported counts as 1 Action, regardless of provider, and that connecting your own API key removes the Data Credit cost but still uses an Action. Each AI prompt is one Action, and the model chosen sets the Data Credit cost. Clay's pricing FAQ puts Actions at less than a cent each and Data Credits at $0.05 each at the starting tier.
Rollover works differently for each meter. Actions expire at the end of every billing cycle, while Data Credits on monthly plans roll over up to a cap of 2x your monthly allowance, according to Clay's docs. Annual plans get a 15% Data Credit rollover if you renew on the same or a higher tier; the pricing page's comparison table words this differently from its FAQ, so check your contract.
What consumes Clay credits, and what is free?
Clay consumes Actions on enrichments from any provider, AI runs, signals, CRM and data warehouse syncs, HTTP API calls, ads audience exports and Sequencer leads. The Clay Sequencer charges one Action per lead added to a campaign, not per email sent. Data Credits are used only when Clay buys data or AI for you.
Several common steps cost nothing at all, according to Clay's Actions and Data Credits docs:
- Sourcing accounts or contacts, and CRM, warehouse and webhook imports.
- Clay formulas, filters, scoring and normalisation formulas.
- Manual data entry and the Sculptor builder.
- Creating audiences (only the export counts).
- Send Table Data and Lookup Single Row in Other Table.
- CSV export.
Data Credit prices vary by data type. Clay's docs give examples of 0.5 Data Credits for a LinkedIn profile enrichment and 0.5 for an email found, with phone numbers described as expensive, and they put a fully enriched record at 6 to 20 Data Credits.
What is the Clay cost for 1,000 leads? A worked example
The Clay cost for 1,000 fully enriched leads on monthly Launch billing works out at roughly $350 to $640 a month under the assumptions below. The inputs are Clay's published 6 to 20 Data Credits per record and its monthly slider prices; the Actions count of 8 per row is an assumption you should replace with your own table.
| Scenario | Data Credits needed | Actions needed | Plan configuration | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light: 6 Data Credits per lead | 1,000 x 6 = 6,000 | 1,000 x 8 = 8,000 | Launch: 15,000 Actions ($60) + 6,000 Data Credits ($290) | $60 + $290 = $350, or $0.35 per lead |
| Heavier: 12 Data Credits per lead | 1,000 x 12 = 12,000 | 8,000 | Launch: 15,000 Actions ($60) + 10,000 Data Credits ($460) + 2,000 top-up credits | $60 + $460 + $119.60 = $639.60, or about $0.64 per lead |
| Heavier, sized up instead | 12,000 | 8,000 | Launch: 15,000 Actions ($60) + 20,000 Data Credits ($880) | $940, with 8,000 credits left to roll over |
The top-up line assumes the 30% premium applies to your tier's rate: $460 / 10,000 = $0.046 per credit, x 1.3 = $0.0598, x 2,000 = $119.60. Clay does not publish a per-credit top-up price list, so confirm the figure in your billing settings before relying on it.
Unused Data Credits roll over on monthly plans, so the $940 route is less wasteful than it looks if you run similar volume every month. Unused Actions never roll over, which is why sizing Actions to your real usage matters more.
Is Clay annual pricing cheaper than monthly?
Clay annual pricing is about 10% cheaper than monthly billing, and the pricing page labels the annual toggle Save 10%. Launch drops from $185 to $167 a month and Growth from $495 to $446 a month.
Over a year, Launch costs $185 x 12 = $2,220 on monthly billing against $167 x 12 = $2,004 on annual, a saving of $216. Growth costs $495 x 12 = $5,940 against $446 x 12 = $5,352, a saving of $588. Larger Data Credit tiers save more in absolute terms.
Unit prices also fall as you move up the sliders. The monthly Launch Data Credit tiers break down as follows:
| Data Credits a month | Monthly price | Price per Data Credit |
|---|---|---|
| 2,500 | $125 | $0.0500 |
| 6,000 | $290 | $0.0483 |
| 10,000 | $460 | $0.0460 |
| 20,000 | $880 | $0.0440 |
| 50,000 | $2,125 | $0.0425 |
Actions follow the same pattern: 15,000 for $60 is $0.004 each, and 200,000 for $540 is $0.0027 each on monthly Launch billing.
Should you choose the Clay Launch plan or the Clay Growth plan?
The Clay Launch plan fits most teams that run list-based outbound and push leads to a sequencer. Launch includes phone enrichment, job change and other signals, scheduled enrichment runs, Audiences search and email sending via Clay or integrations.
The Clay Growth plan is for teams that need Clay to talk to other systems automatically. Growth adds CRM auto-sync and enrichment, data warehouse sync, HTTP API integrations, webhook signals, web intent signals, unlimited ad audiences and Sequencer domains and inboxes.
The feature premium is small once usage matches. Launch with 40,000 Actions ($150) and 6,000 Data Credits ($290) costs $440 a month on monthly billing, against $495 for Growth's starting tier with the same allowances. That means Growth's integrations cost about $55 a month extra at that volume.
How can you keep Clay costs down?
Clay costs fall fastest when you stop paying for rows you would never contact. Filter companies with Find Companies filters before rows are returned, then use free formulas to qualify rows before any paid enrichment runs.
Use run conditions so expensive columns, especially phone lookups, only run on rows that passed earlier checks. Clay's Work Email waterfall can start with a free Infer Email step, and the docs say no paid providers are called if the guessed address validates.
Connect your own API keys for providers you already pay for, which removes the Data Credit cost while still using one Action. For AI columns, cheaper fixed-price models such as GPT-5 Nano at 0.2 Data Credits for content generation cost far less than Claude 4.6 Opus at 7.5, according to Clay's AI pricing table.
What happens to legacy Clay plans and credits?
Legacy Clay plans, named Starter, Explorer, Pro and Enterprise, still exist for customers who were on them before the March 2026 change. Clay's memo says existing customers can keep their plan and that Clay would contact customers who would save money by switching.
Clay's legacy plans doc sets two dates. Legacy Starter, Explorer and Pro customers get modern features at no extra cost through 31 December 2026, and any plan change after 10 April 2026 at 11:59pm PDT forces a move to the new plans with no way back.
Clay's memo says the new Growth plan at $495 a month is $305 cheaper than the old Pro plan at $800. If you are on a legacy plan, compare your real monthly usage against the new sliders before making any change, because the move is one way.
Clay pricing: what to budget in 2026
For most outbound teams, Clay pricing comes down to Data Credits per lead multiplied by monthly volume, plus a fixed Actions tier. Start from Clay's 6 to 20 Data Credits per enriched record, multiply by your lead count, and pick the Data Credit tier that covers it.
Then size Actions to your real number of paid steps per row, because they never roll over. Run a 50-row test, read the usage in your workspace, and only then commit to annual billing. Do unused Clay credits roll over?
Unused Data Credits roll over, but unused Actions do not. On monthly plans the Data Credit balance is capped at 2x your monthly allowance, and annual plans get a 15% rollover if you renew on the same or a higher tier.
How much does one Clay Data Credit cost?
A Clay Data Credit costs $0.05 at the 2,500-credit Launch tier on monthly billing. The price falls to $0.0425 at the 50,000-credit tier. Actions cost less than a cent each, starting at $0.004.
Can you buy extra Clay credits without upgrading?
Yes, Launch and Growth customers can top up at a 30% premium without moving to a higher plan. The Free plan has no top-ups, and Enterprise top-ups are priced in the contract.
Does Clay charge when no data is found?
No, Clay's pricing FAQ says no Data Credits or Actions are charged when a lookup returns no result. If a provider refunds Clay for invalid data, Clay's docs say those Data Credits are refunded to you.
How much does Clay Enterprise cost?
Clay does not publish Enterprise pricing. Its pricing FAQ describes Enterprise as an annual commitment for teams needing 100,000+ Data Credits and 200,000+ Actions a month, with SSO, SCIM and credit budgeting.
