What does Make do?
- Builds automations (scenarios) on a visual canvas, triggered by webhooks, schedules or app events, with routers, filters, iterators and aggregators for branching and looping.
- Connects to 3,500+ apps, including HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Attio, lemlist, Slack, Google Sheets, OpenAI and Anthropic Claude, plus HTTP and webhook modules for any API.
- Bills in credits: most module actions use 1 credit, some AI features use more, and error-handler and router modules use none.
- Schedules scenarios down to a 1-minute interval on paid plans (15 minutes on Free) and gives paid plans access to the Make API.
- Adds priority execution, custom variables and full-text execution log search on Pro, and team roles and shared scenario templates on Teams.
Where does Make fit in a GTM engineering stack?
Make is the visual automation layer in a GTM engineering stack: its scenarios move records between CRMs, sequencers and Clay on triggers and schedules, without writing code.
- 1A webhook, schedule or app event such as a new Attio entry starts the scenario
- 2Make's Clay app creates a record in a Clay webhook table for enrichment
- 3Clay's HTTP API column sends the enriched row to a Make custom webhook
- 4Make updates HubSpot or Attio and adds the contact to lemlist

Prices were shown in USD for a UK visitor. Plan cards load dynamically from the pricing page's credit slider, and the annual price is the monthly equivalent when paid annually. Extra credits are sold in bundles of 1,000 or 10,000, with optional auto-purchase on Core, Pro and Teams. Usage allowances (data transfer, storage, webhook queue) scale per 10,000 credits. Make also advertises a Start-up Plan with 50% off for companies under 20 employees.
Who is Make best for?
A good fit if you
- GTM teams that want a visual, no-code builder for moving data between Clay, a CRM, a sequencer and Slack without hosting anything.
- Low to moderate volumes: 10,000 credits a month cost $9 on Core billed annually, and the Free plan covers 1,000 credits for testing.
- Teams that rely on vendor-maintained app modules (for example lemlist's own Make app) rather than raw HTTP calls.
Look elsewhere if you
- Long, high-step workflows at volume: every module action consumes credits, so a 20-step scenario uses roughly 20 credits per run.
- Teams that need to self-host for data control: Make is a hosted service only.
- Workloads where unused capacity must carry over: credits expire at the end of each term, and scenarios stop when credits run out.
Does Make integrate with Clay and your CRM?
- Clay
- Via Zapier or Make. Make is not in Clay's integrations directory, but Make maintains a verified Clay app with one action, Create a record in table, which sends data into a Clay webhook table. It has no trigger, so to send enriched rows back you call a Make custom webhook from Clay's HTTP API column. Clay webhook sources are capped at 50,000 submissions each outside Enterprise. (source)
- Integrations
- 3,500+ apps, including HubSpot CRM, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Slack, Google Sheets, OpenAI and Anthropic Claude; a Make-maintained Attio app (20 modules including a Watch Entries trigger); a vendor-maintained lemlist app; and generic HTTP and webhook modules for any API. (source)
- GDPR
- Make (part of Celonis) states it adheres to GDPR, has completed SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3 audits, and runs an ISO 27001-certified security programme. Infrastructure runs on AWS with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2/1.3 in transit. A Celonis Data Processing Agreement (May 2024 version) and sub-processor list are published; transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework with Standard Contractual Clauses as the fallback. Accounts sit in EU or US zones (eu1, eu2, us1, us2), but Make's pages checked do not state city-level hosting locations. (source)

Make FAQs
Is Make free to use?
Make has a free plan with 1,000 credits a month, the visual scenario builder and access to its app library. Free scenarios can run at most every 15 minutes. Paid plans start at $9 a month billed annually for 10,000 credits.
What is Make used for?
Make is used to automate work between apps without writing code, for example pushing new form leads into a CRM, enriching them and alerting a rep in Slack. GTM teams use it to glue together data, CRM and outreach tools that lack a direct integration.
What is a credit in Make?
A credit is Make's billing unit: most module actions, such as reading, searching, creating or updating a record, use 1 credit. Some AI features use more, while router and error-handler modules use none. Unused credits expire at the end of the term.
What happens when you run out of Make credits?
Make stops running your scenarios until credits are added. Incoming webhooks are queued up to your webhook queue allowance, and polling scenarios pick up from their last successful run. You can buy extra credits in bundles of 1,000 or 10,000, or turn on auto-purchase on Core, Pro and Teams.
Is Make GDPR compliant?
Make states that it adheres to GDPR and publishes a Celonis Data Processing Agreement and sub-processor list. It also reports SOC 2 Type II, SOC 3 and ISO 27001. Check which zone (EU or US) your organisation is in from the subdomain of your Make URL, such as eu1 or us1.
