Clay-centred enrichment stack

Researched by the Tentt team · draft awaiting expert review · Updated

A Clay enrichment stack runs on Clay's Growth plan: a Prospeo, LeadMagic and FullEnrich waterfall finds emails and mobiles, ZeroBounce verifies, OpenAI and Perplexity research each account, and Clay syncs results to HubSpot or Attio. On your own provider accounts, it costs about $650 to $750 a month at published October 2026 prices.

Who is this stack for?

Teams with one Clay operator who enrich a few thousand contacts a month, want CRM records kept current automatically, and prefer to own their provider accounts rather than spend Clay data credits.

Which tools are in the stack, and what does each one do?

  1. 01Orchestration

    • Clay logoClay

Holds the table, runs the waterfall, the AI columns and the CRM sync; Growth adds CRM auto-sync, the HTTP API and webhooks.

Growth from $495/month (monthly) or $446/month (annual): 40,000 actions and 6,000 data credits a month on monthly billing

  2. 02Waterfall providers

    • Prospeo logoProspeo

First email provider in the waterfall, on your own account, charging 1 credit per verified email found.

Starter $49/month (monthly) or $37/month (yearly), 2,000 credits

    • LeadMagic logoLeadMagic

Second email provider and the mobile fallback; LeadMagic charges 1 credit per email and 5 per mobile, and nothing for empty lookups.

Essential $99/month or $83/month on annual billing, 5,000 credits

    • FullEnrich logoFullEnrich

Last step for hard-to-find rows and mobiles; FullEnrich itself waterfalls across providers and charges 1 credit per work email, 10 per mobile.

      Pro 1,000 credits for $55/month, or 12,000 a year for $588 ($49/month)

  3. 03Verification

    • ZeroBounce logoZeroBounce

Validates every found email inside Clay before export (the ZeroBounce action is on all Clay plans) and returns validity status.

      $39 for 2,000 credits, one-off; Freemium tier gives 100 credits a month

  4. 04AI research

    • OpenAI logoOpenAI

Classifies accounts and writes short personalisation lines from scraped or enriched fields, run with your own key so you pick the model.

      Per token, e.g. gpt-6-luna at $0.10 input / $0.50 output per 1M tokens

    • Perplexity logoPerplexity

Answers open web questions per account (recent news, product launches) through Clay's Perplexity action.

Billed in Clay credits only, so it draws on the Growth plan's data credits

  5. 05CRM sync

    • HubSpot logoHubSpot

Receives created and updated contacts and companies from Clay's HubSpot actions (Growth and above).

Free tier (up to 2 users)

    • Attio logoAttio

Alternative CRM; Clay can upsert Attio records and list entries for 1 Clay credit per run.

Free tier (up to 3 seats)

How does data flow through the stack?

  1. 1Import accounts and people into a Clay table from a CSV, a CRM list or a Clay people search.
  2. 2Run the email waterfall: Prospeo, then LeadMagic, then FullEnrich, each only on rows the previous provider left empty.
  3. 3Validate found emails with ZeroBounce and drop invalid rows before any AI spend.
  4. 4Run Perplexity and OpenAI columns to research each account and write a one-line personalisation.
  5. 5Upsert the enriched contact and company into HubSpot or Attio, and schedule the table to refresh.

How much does this stack cost per month?

About $650 to $750 a month on your own provider accounts

Assumes one Clay operator enriching about 3,000 to 5,000 contacts a month and a free CRM tier. Low end (annual billing): Clay Growth $446 + Prospeo $37 + LeadMagic $83 + FullEnrich $49 + ZeroBounce $39 for 2,000 checks + OpenAI about $5 = $659. High end (monthly billing): Clay $495 + Prospeo $49 + LeadMagic $99 + FullEnrich $55 + ZeroBounce $39 + OpenAI about $5 = $742. The OpenAI figure is an estimate, not a vendor price: 5,000 rows at roughly 2,000 input and 300 output tokens on gpt-6-luna is about $1.75, rounded up. Running the whole waterfall on Clay data credits instead removes the provider subscriptions, leaving Clay Growth at $446 to $495, but uses up the 6,000 monthly data credits faster. Prices checked on 17 October 2026.

What are the trade-offs?

  • Owning three provider accounts lowers the per-lookup cost (one Clay action each) but means three bills, three credit balances and three sets of API keys.
  • Clay Growth is needed for the CRM sync. On Launch ($167 to $185 a month) you can enrich and verify, but you would move results to the CRM by CSV or through the sequencer.
  • Perplexity in Clay is Clay credits only, so heavy web research draws down the same 6,000 monthly data credits as any Clay-native enrichment.

Questions about this stack

How many providers should a Clay waterfall have?

Two to four email providers is a common range: each extra provider fills some of the rows the previous one missed, with diminishing returns. This stack uses three (Prospeo, LeadMagic, FullEnrich), and FullEnrich itself queries several providers behind one call.

Is it cheaper to use my own API keys in Clay?

Using your own provider key costs one Clay action and no Clay data credits, per Clay's pricing page, so you pay the provider directly at its own rates. Whether that is cheaper depends on volume, because each provider subscription has its own minimum.

Which Clay plan do I need to sync to HubSpot?

Clay's HubSpot integration is included on the Growth plan and above, from $446 a month on annual billing. The same applies to Clay's Salesforce, Pipedrive and Attio integrations.

Does Clay have its own AI research agent?

Yes. Claygent is Clay's built-in web research agent and is listed even on the Free plan, using Clay credits. This stack adds OpenAI on your own key for cheap classification and Perplexity for cited web answers.
